Justice is not failing women and girls by accident. Around the world, legal systems continue to treat women and men differently, while barriers, bias and silence deny access to justice. Violence and discrimination persist without consequence.
Context
Currently no country in the world has equal legal rights for women and girls. For International Women’s Day 2026, UN Women built the case against impunity, seeking justice for all women and girls.
This campaign calls for fundamental changes in justice systems around the globe as an essential condition for equality.
Approach
At its core, the campaign places impunity on trial with the headline Rights. Justice. Action.
Intentionally subversive in tone, the campaign identity features a high-impact typographic treatment with a Y2K-inflected aesthetic to balance institutional authority with accessibility and relevance that speaks to a global, digitally native audience.
We developed a sculptural identity system centred around a 3D UN Women logo, which acts as both a symbol and a statement for protection, presence and resistance.
Across photography and motion, the campaign identity foregrounds individuals and groups of empowered women and girls within a wider collective narrative.
The resulting campaign identity operated seamlessly across physical and digital environments, from large-scale events at the UN General Assembly to social and campaign assets worldwide.
Putting impunity on trial. Because justice changes lives.
