We were drawn to the way in which Crowdfund London helps communities to come together to create, fund and launch fresh ideas to improve the city.

Context
Nesta recently conducted a piece of impact research and advocacy work for Greater London Authority, which evaluated the Crowdfund London programme. Crowdfund London provides matched grant funding to civic projects such as community spaces, art pieces and gardens that raise money from the public through crowdfunding.

Approach
The identity for the research is community-focussed and centred around friendly, hand-drawn illustrations of people working together.  Combined with a fresh colour palette and simple typography the identity is celebratory and optimistic. We created a 100 page report of the research findings that was made up of infographics, illustrations, case studies, data and photography. The report was summarised into a digestible highlights pamphlet and supported by a suite of social media assets.

Impact
'It was really important that the design conveyed both the motivations for the programme and the key insights that came from the evaluation. The colourful and playful style captures the experimentation that Crowdfund London has facilitated and the illustrated figures throughout highlight how the programme really is about people, and helping them come together to make a difference in their communities.'
